Matches were played in four categories, namely, International Masters, Seniors, Juniors and Novice Category.
The top 20 players from the tournament were picked for training for World Youth Scrabble Championship which will be played in England in December.
A salient feature of the tournament was that it was organised by a team of young players, aged 14-17, who represented Pakistan at international events in the past.
In the International Masters category, Mihajuddin (CCA College) stood first, M. Jahanzaib Khan (St Patrick’s High School) came second and M. Inshal (Ladybird School) secured third position.
In the Senior category, Moizullah Baig (Falconhouse School) secured first position with his immaculate performance, Syed M. Ahsan (Happy Home School) took second position and Abdul Moiz Anis (Ladybird School) followed with third position.
In the Junior category, Hammad Hadi (BVS Parsi School) took the top spot, Lala Rukh (Mama Parsi) secured second position, and Arham Abidi (Karachi Grammar School) came third.
In Novice category, Sumbul Siddiqui (Mrs Tahseen’s School) stood first, Abdullah Ayub (National School, Badin) secured second position and Bisma Fatima (Happy Home School) came third.
